What is radon?
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can cause lung cancer.
You can’t see or smell radon. Testing is the only way to know your level of exposure. Radon enters a home primarily through cracks or openings in the foundation, slab, or sump pit. When this occurs, radon can accumulate in dangerous levels.

What is the Risk?
Being exposed to high levels of radon for too long can lead to lung cancer. Lung cancer kills thousands of Americans every year. Although lung cancer can be treated, the survival rate is one of the lowest for those with cancer. From the time of diagnosis, only 11 to 15 percent of those afflicted with lung cancer will live beyond five years. In many cases lung cancer can be prevented. Radon is the number one cause of lung cancer among non-smokers. Overall, radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer.

Why use a radon specialist?
Radon contactors are required to be certified by one of two national proficiency programs recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In addition, contractors are required by law to be registered with the Kentucky Radon Program in order to provide radon measurement, mitigation, or analytical laboratory services in the state. While certification and registration are required by law, not all contractors adhere to the equal levels of proficiency, quality control, and business practices. We follow all requirements and go above and beyond to make sure we don't just hit the minimums. We strive to provide excellent work at a good price.
